Veteran actor Dharmendra, 89, who was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital last week for a routine checkup, is reported to be doing well, according to his wife and fellow actor Hema Malini.
Hema Malini gives health update on Dharmendra days after his hospitalisation
Fans had expressed concern over Dharmendra’s health after news of his hospitalisation spread on social media. The actor, who will celebrate his 90th birthday on December 8, was admitted for a routine medical checkup, sources told NDTV.
On Monday morning, Hema Malini, 77, was spotted at Mumbai airport, where she greeted waiting paparazzi with a warm smile. When asked about Dharmendra’s health, Hema responded with an “okay” gesture and expressed her gratitude with folded hands. It is unclear whether Dharmendra is still in the hospital or when he will be discharged.
Earlier this year, Dharmendra underwent an eye graft surgery in April. At the time, he reassured fans, saying, “I am strong. Abhi bhi Dharmendra mein bahut dum hai. Abhi bhi jaan rakhta hoon. Meri aankh, eye graft ho gayi hai. Love you, my audience and my fans.”
Dharmendra was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. He will next appear in Ikkis, a film based on the life of war hero Arun Khetarpal, directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film, featuring Agastya Nanda, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Simar Bhatia, is set to release in December.
