Coco Gauff competed in the WTA Finals on Sunday in Riyadh with her trusty New Balance Coco CG2 sneaker on foot.

Gauff’s color palette for the occasion was white with blue accents, which extended to her sneakers. The Coco CG2 is the 21-year-old tennis star’s second signature shoe with New Balance, the athletic brand she’s been partnered with since the age of 14. The $159.99 style goes the nontraditional route with a mid-cut silhouette; meanwhile, it features a dual-density FuelCell midsole with a carbon fiber plate. The CG2 dropped in 2024 while Gauff’s first signature shoe with New Balance was released in 2022.

Gauff, the defending champion of the WTA Finals, ultimately lost Sunday’s match against her fellow American Jessica Pegula. Both Gauff and Pegula are two of the top eight Women’s Tennis Association singles players who qualified to compete in the WTA Finals. It hasn’t been all sporty looks for the athletes though, as the eight women dressed up in designer gowns for a photo shoot captured by Yemeni-Egyptian-American artist Yumna Al-Arashi at the cultural retreat Bab AlSaad in the historic district of Diriyah.

For the glamorous moment, Gauff wore a custom Miu Miu dress — no surprise, as the athlete teamed up with the luxury brand and New Balance for a limited-edition tennis-inspired capsule released in September, and she has worn their collaborative kits and co-branded versions of the CG2 while competing this year. Whether she’s wearing New Balance sneakers, Miu Miu heels, or collaborative items either on or off the court, her relationship with the labels has stood out this year.
The two-time Grand Slam winner and the two brands will all be celebrated at the 2025 Footwear News Achievement Awards, as the athlete will receive the Style Influencer of the Year award, while New Balance and Miu Miu receive the Collaboration of the Year award.
