Before Aamir Khan took the lead as Bhuvan, the role was offered to Shah Rukh Khan. In an interview, actor Yashpal Sharma said,”I have heard director Ashutosh Gowariker had this script for a very long time. He had even approached Shah Rukh Khan for the project, but apparently he wasn’t convinced with the script.”
