Rohit Sharma failed to control his emotions as India won the Women’s World Cup title by beating South Africa in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, November 2. Rohit was one of the stars in attendance as the Indian team defended 298 runs by bundling out the Proteas women for 246 runs.
The match was on a knife-edge for most of the second innings with Laura Wolvaardt scoring a hundred while India bouncing back with the spells of Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma. Deepti broke the game with the wickets of Wolvaardt and Chloe Tryon before settling the game by dismissing Nadine de Klerk in the end. This kicked off wild celebrations with the players being ecstatic on the field.
The camera panned to Rohit Sharma, who was in the stands and was seen teary-eyed.
