Father David Dhawan and son Varun Dhawan — are all set to revive the signature charm of their hit collaborations with their upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Ahead of the film’s release, the makers dropped the audio teaser of its title track, giving fans a nostalgic taste of the ’90s era. The teaser was unveiled by Tips Music on October 31, sparking excitement among Bollywood music lovers.

Interestingly, the film’s title takes inspiration from a verse in the popular song ‘Sona Sona’ from David Dhawan’s 1999 hit Biwi No. 1. The iconic number, which originally featured Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor, has now been recreated for the new-age comedy. The refreshed version retains the playful essence of the original while adding a contemporary musical twist courtesy of composer duo Sachin-Jigar.
The recreated track has been sung by Sumonto Mukherjee and Simran Chaudhary, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Known for his witty and emotive writing, Bhattacharya’s contribution is expected to give the song a modern lyrical edge while staying true to the fun energy of the Dhawan brand of entertainment.
Announcing the teaser on Instagram, the makers wrote, “Drama bhi hona hai, comedy bhi — kyunki jab ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’… the chaos unfolds in cinemas on 5th June, 2026!” The announcement has already created a buzz online, with fans calling it a “perfect comeback” for David Dhawan’s signature comedy style.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai brings together an ensemble cast led by Varun Dhawan, with Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur playing the leading ladies. The film also features a host of popular names including Maniesh Paul, Kubbra Sait, Jimmy Sheirgill, Chunky Panday, Mouni Roy, Ali Asgar, Rakesh Bedi, and Rajesh Kumar in key roles, ensuring a mix of humour, drama, and family entertainment.
