Trump unveils Lincoln Bathroom makeover, says 1940s tiles were inappropriate

US President Donald Trump on Friday unveiled a renovation of the Lincoln Bathroom inside the White House, declaring the makeover a restoration of historical accuracy and sharing before-and-after photos on Truth Social.

“I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House,” Trump announced, alongside two photos showing the transformation. “It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era.”

The President further said he replaced the green tiles with black and white polished statuary marble, a look he described as very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln.

“In fact,” Trump added, “it could be the marble that was originally there!”

The renovation follows weeks after the president’s ballroom construction, which involved demolishing the East Wing despite earlier wouldn’t interfere with the current building.

In a series of follow-up posts, Trump shared multiple angles of the refurbished bathroom, highlighting its gleaming marble, gold fixtures, and what he called a “presidential look that truly honours Lincoln’s legacy.”

The Lincoln Bathroom, attached to one of the most storied rooms in the White House, as last remodelled in the 1940s, during the Truman administration, when the mansion underwent major structural updates.
