Actress Taapsee Pannu, known for her distinctive approach to both cinema and life, has always carved her own path—whether through her unconventional film choices or her personal style. Extending that individuality into her living space, the actress recently opened up about her vintage home in Denmark, which she shares with her husband, Danish badminton player Mathias Boe.

Speaking about the property for the first time, Taapsee revealed that the house dates back to the early 1900s. “It is a huge house that was built around 1907. There’s a lot of history involved and we wanted to restore as much as possible,” she said. The actress shared that her intent was to preserve the home’s original charm, keeping its vintage furniture and décor intact. “There’s vintage furniture that’s been there for decades, which I did not want to get rid of. We requested the previous owners to let us keep it,” she added.
Restoration, however, came with its own set of challenges. “Labour is extremely expensive in Denmark, and transportation or storing things in warehouses costs a bomb, so people prefer to sell their stuff. We were lucky to inherit all the vintage lamps, furniture, paintings, and chandeliers—it goes with the vintage theme of the house, classic Danish designs,” Taapsee explained.
On how she and Mathias approached designing their home, Taapsee shared that while their tastes align in some aspects, they’ve learned to embrace differences. “Mathias and I have some common tastes but in some matters we agree to disagree. However, he’s left most of the interiors to me and his parents, who were also kind to let me decide. I discuss with everybody before making any decision,” she said.
Balancing her life between Mumbai and Denmark, Taapsee continues to bring the same focus and creativity to her off-screen ventures as she does to her films. Up next, the actress will be seen in Gandhari, an action thriller where she plays a determined mother on a mission to rescue her kidnapped child.
