Veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi, best known for portraying Lord Sai Baba in Manoj Kumar’s 1977 classic Shirdi Ke Saibaba, has been hospitalised at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai since October 8. The 86-year-old actor is reportedly battling severe sepsis, and his family has been seeking financial support from the film fraternity to help cover rising medical expenses.

Amid this, Ranbir Kapoor’s sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, extended her support by donating to the actor’s treatment. She shared her gesture in a comment on a social media post, which soon attracted mixed reactions online.

Riddhima commented on a paparazzo’s post about the veteran actor, writing, “Done. Wishing him a speedy recovery.” However, a troll questioned her intentions, replying, “Why did u mention here if you have helped… footage chahiye?”
Not one to ignore the remark, Riddhima responded firmly, saying, “Everything in life is not about optics – helping someone in need and in whatever capacity you can is the biggest blessing.”
Her reply quickly went viral, earning praise from many social media users for maintaining dignity and composure while addressing negativity.
Sudhir Dalvi’s health condition
According to reports, Sudhir Dalvi’s hospital bills have already crossed Rs. 10 lakhs, and doctors estimate that the total expenses may reach around Rs. 15 lakhs. The actor’s family has reportedly been reaching out to members of the film industry for assistance.
Dalvi’s contribution to Indian cinema and television has been significant. Apart from his memorable role as Sai Baba, he portrayed Rishi Vashishtha in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan (1987). His filmography includes acclaimed titles such as Junoon (1978) and Chandni (1989). He continued to work actively through the 1990s and early 2000s, last appearing in the 2003 film Xcuse Me and later in the TV series Woh Huye Na Hamare (2006).
