Trust Shashi Tharoor to turn a viral moment into a masterclass in humour. The Congress MP had a tongue-in-cheek response after Karan Johar compared a ‘Pitch To Get Rich’ contestant to him on the new JioHotstar reality show.
In the episode, Karan Johar, who serves as a “permanent angel” alongside Malaika Arora and Manish Malhotra, remarked, “Has anyone ever told you that you look like Shashi Tharoor?” Even Malaika agreed with the observation, sparking laughter on set. A fanpage shared the viral clip and captioned it, “Karan Johar says he looks and talks like Shashi Tharoor and Malaika Arora agrees (sic).”
Tharoor, however, wasn’t quite convinced. Reacting to the viral clip on X, he quipped, “Must say to Karan Johar and Malaika Arora that it’s clearly been too long since they’ve met me (sic).” His witty comeback instantly won the internet, with fans urging him to “meet them soon to clear the confusion.”
