Actor Paridhi Sharma, best known for her acclaimed television roles, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Haq, a film that promises to shed light on courage, conviction, and justice. Directed by Supan Verma, the film stars Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles and is slated to release on November 7, 2025.

Paridhi Sharma opens up on her Bollywood debut Haq: “It’s about a woman’s courage to stand her ground”
Inspired by the historic Shah Bano case, Haq delves into the emotional and societal struggles of a woman who dares to fight for her rights against the odds. However, Paridhi emphasizes that the film transcends the boundaries of a courtroom drama — it’s a deeply human story about resilience and self-respect.
“I was very much aware of the Shah Bano case,” says Paridhi, who plays Iram — Shah Bano’s close friend and Emraan Hashmi’s sister in the film. “The story hails from Indore, which is my hometown. When I heard that someone was making a film on this topic, I was instantly intrigued. I’ve always been drawn to stories about women’s empowerment and courage. What really touched me was that this is the story of a woman who fought for her rights and stood her ground in a patriarchal society.”
To bring authenticity to her performance, Paridhi immersed herself in preparation. “I joined Urdu workshops to work on pronunciation and authenticity. For my audition, I was given a scene with Shah Bano, but I couldn’t quite find the emotional rhythm. So, I began writing letters to Shah Bano as Iram — expressing her thoughts, feelings, and emotions. After three days of writing, when I finally gave the audition, everything just flowed naturally. Supan sir and the team loved it, and that connection stayed with me throughout the shoot.”
The actress also shares her admiration for her co-stars. “Both are wonderful co-stars to observe and work with. A few days before I even knew I’d be doing Haq, I happened to read Emraan’s book The Kiss of Life. When I told him on set, he was really touched — that book is very close to his heart. We had a warm conversation about it, and I could sense the depth of what he had lived through.”
Reflecting on the film’s significance, Paridhi adds, “Beyond box office numbers or politics, I see Haq as the journey of a brave woman who stood up for her rights. I want this film to succeed for her — for what she represents. The courage and resilience she showed deserve to be celebrated.”
As she steps into cinema with Haq, Paridhi sums up her artistic growth beautifully: “Television taught me conviction — that if you truly believe in what you’re doing, your audience will connect to it. Haq has taught me surrender — to let go and trust the process. Together, conviction and surrender define me today as an artist.”
