The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) yesterday arrested one person in connection with some terror-related activities in Pune.
The arrest is linked to a previous search conducted by the anti-terror body on October 9 in Pune. The body seized multiple electronic devices, documents, and literature following the search.
Based on the materials uncovered during the search, the ATS registered a First Information Report (FIR) under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. The act was amended in 2008.
Following the FIR, the ATS further moved and arrested the person from Pune.
“In a case related to terrorism, the Maharashtra ATS conducted searches at various locations in Pune on October 9, 2025. During the operation, several electronic items, documents, and materials were seized. Based on the evidence uncovered during the investigation, an offence was registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (as amended in 2008). Following the registration of the case, on October 27, 2025, the ATS arrested one person in Pune. Further investigation in the matter is underway, the ATS noted in a statement after the arrest, as reported by the news agency ANI.
The anti-terror body is conducting further research and probing all the angles to unravel the network of crime.
