Lily Allen doesnât want to date another famous person after her messy breakup with David Harbour.
The newly single âSmileâ singer discussed the challenges of dating in a candid conversation with Interview Magazine published Tuesday.
When asked if using dating apps as someone in the public eye has its drawbacks, Allen replied, âIt does, because Iâm not really looking to go out with another famous person.â
The British singer, 40, explained that when she goes on âdates with other people, thereâs a bit of a barrier.â
In fact, she noted that, âin England itâs a bit of a novelty to be on a date withâ her.
Despite scoring a few dates on Raya, Allen pointed out that she has struggled with dating apps, calling them âawful.â
âEspecially if youâre going through heartbreak,â she said, referring to her separation from the âStranger Thingsâ actor.
âThere is nothing more depressing than hundreds of people that are nothing like the person that youâre missing,â she continued. âItâs just like, âNo, thatâs not him. Thatâs not him. Thatâs not him.ââ
Allen also experienced a slight hiccup while exploring the virtual world of dating when she was blocked by Hinge.
âDid I tell you I got banned from Hinge for impersonating myself?â she said. âIâm like, âI can prove that Iâm that person.â Theyâre like, âYouâll need to send us your ID.â And Iâm like, âActually, my name and the name on my ID arenât the same.’â
Without revealing the name she uses on the apps, Allen confirmed that she is ânot in a relationshipâ at the moment.
âBut there are some people that I meet up with,â she divulged.
Allen and Harbour tied the knot in 2020 with a Las Vegas ceremony after dating for nearly a year. However, their relationship came to a screeching halt in February when news broke that they were separating.
The âFâk Youâ artist â who filed for divorce last month â checked into a treatment center for âemotional turmoilâ while grappling with their breakup.
The pop star then hinted that Harbour, 50, had cheated on her in her new album, âWest End Girl,â which debuted on Oct. 24.
In the tune âDallas Major,â she sings about a relationship being âopenâ when her partner âwent astrayâ and the unnamed person was living a âdouble lifeâ in âPâsy Palace.â
This week, rumors swirled that Harbour had an affair with costume designer Natalie Tippett.
Harbour has yet to address the cheating speculation and awkwardly avoided questions about his estranged wife in April.
