On Monday, Lena Dunham’s pearl-adorned heels commanded the spotlight at the New York premiere of “I Wish You All the Best.” Akin to a piece of art, the shoes were designed by Dauphinette, a New York-based label known for its whimsical, outlandish confections.

Debuting on the brand’s fall 2024 runway, the heels were upcycled by Dauphinette’s founder, Olivia Cheng, who explained her affinity with the earth-friendly design practice to luxury resale platform The RealReal. “It’s where I see the greatest opportunity for Dauphinette to make a sustained, lasting impact within the fashion industry and the consumer culture in general,” the designer said.

The silhouette boasted a nude-colored base intricately embellished with clusters of pearls hanging from the edges, along with one string of pearls that sat across the top of Dunham’s foot. As if that wasn’t eye-catching enough, the pointed toe was decorated with a floral appliqué.

The heels debuted on the brand's fall 2024 runway.

Giving the pearl heels the spotlight, Dunham dressed in all black. The “Too Much” director teamed a long-sleeve black shirt featuring slit sleeves with a voluminous ankle-length bubble skirt, made from a taffeta fabric. For accessories, she layered a black cord necklace and a silver chain pendant silhouette. Dunham went with a glowy, soft makeup look alongside long, jet-black hair, which was styled in a middle part.

“I Wish You All the Best” marks actress Tommy Dorfman’s directorial debut. Hitting theaters on Nov. 7, the movie follows Ben DeBacker (played by Corey Fogelmanis), a high schooler who comes out as nonbinary and is kicked out of their family’s home. Dunham portrays Ms. Lyons, an art teacher who supports Ben at their new school. The film also stars Cole Sprouse, Alexandra Daddario and Lexi Underwood.
