Sydney Sweeney shoots down plastic surgery rumors and shares plan to ‘age gracefully’: ‘I’m terrified of needles’

Sydney Sweeney won’t be going under the knife anytime soon.

The 28-year-old actress swiftly shut down rumors she’s gotten plastic surgery (or any other cosmetic procedures) in an interview with Variety published Monday.

“I’ve never gotten anything done,” she told the outlet. “I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing.”

The 28-year-old actress said she’s “absolutely terrified of needles” and that she’s “never gotten anything done.”

“I’m going to age gracefully,” she added.

Sweeney was amused at the speculation surrounding her looks.

“It’s really funny. I’ll see things online like ‘comparison pictures.’ I’m like, ‘I’m 12 in that photo,’” she noted. “Of course I’m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I’m 15 years older.’”

The “Euphoria” star’s appearance isn’t the only thing that keeps people talking; earlier this year, she starred in a controversial American Eagle denim ad that included a play on the homophones “jeans” and “genes.” Critics accused the retailer of promoting eugenics and issuing a “racialized dog whistle,” while American Eagle stood behind the campaign.

She added, “I’m going to age gracefully.”
As for the constant buzz surrounding her, the “Euphoria” star shared, “You shouldn’t have to apologize or hide or cover up in any room.” Hey Dude

While Sweeney didn’t directly address the jeans controversy in her interview, the outlet noted she “hinted at the uproar.”

“I play a lot of very divisive characters, and I think that a lot of people think they know me, but they don’t,” she said. “So when people think, ‘Ah, she’s a sex symbol,’ or ‘She’s leaning into that,’ I’m like, ‘No, I just feel good and I’m doing it for myself and I feel strong.’”

Added Sweeney, “I hope that I can inspire other women to be confident and just flaunt what they got and feel good because you shouldn’t have to apologize or hide or cover up in any room.”

Sweeney debuted a bold new ‘do with confidence on Saturday, attending an AFI screening of her film “Christy” in Los Angeles with a fresh bob.

According to her hairstylist, Glen “Coco” Oropeza, the process of taking the star to a lighter shade of blond took an entire week.

Sweeney continued her parade of princess-worthy pink gowns in her latest red carpet appearance, sporting a belted, blush-colored Miu Miu halter dress.
