Right below these industry giants stands Kantara: Chapter 1, which has surpassed other massive titles such as 2.0 (Rs. 189.55 crore), Mahavatar Narsimha (Rs. 182.83 crore), Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (Rs. 153.84 crore), and Saaho (Rs. 142.95 crore).
Trade experts’ credit Kantara: Chapter 1’s Hindi success to its strong cultural connect, gripping mythological narrative, and Rishab Shetty’s devoted following post the first Kantara film. Released with relatively modest expectations, the film grew steadily on word of mouth, especially in North Indian territories where its spiritual storytelling and cinematic intensity resonated deeply.
The Hindi version’s business has also been bolstered by repeat viewing in multiplexes and strong performance in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where the film’s earthy tone and rooted storytelling found particular appeal.
