On Saturday, Alia Bhatt marked the birthday of her mother, actor Soni Razdan, with a special post on social media. Alia, last seen in ‘Jigra’, shared two photographs with her mother on Instagram, capturing moments of affection and togetherness.
The first picture shows Soni Razdan embracing her daughter, while the second captures the pair sharing a laugh during a dinner. Accompanying the images, Alia wrote, “Happy bday mama birdie. You are our whole universe and you light it up every single day (sic).”

Soni Razdan is a British-born Indian actor and filmmaker. Born in Birmingham to a British-German mother and a Kashmiri Pandit father, Razdan moved to India in her youth and attended Elphinstone College in Mumbai. Her career began on stage before she gained wider attention for her work in television and cinema. She has balanced roles across art-house and mainstream productions, earning respect for her versatility.
Razdan’s early television appearances include serials such as ‘Buniyaad’ and ‘Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum’. In film, she has acted in projects like ’36 Chowringhee Lane’, ‘Mandi’, ‘Saaransh’, and ‘Khamosh’. More recently, she made appearances in ‘Raazi’ and the web series ‘Call My Agent: Bollywood’.
