    Fendi Doubles Down on Harrods

LONDONFendi’s relationship with Harrods is growing stronger by the year.

The Italian luxury brand has extended its ready-to-wear space on the first floor by 50 square meters, totaling 175 square meters, with a renovation of carpeted floors and cozy furnishings.

Fendi has divided the space into three rooms with two for the ready-to-wear collections and one for its accessories range.

There are also subtle touches to the brand’s native Romeo with palladiana flooring, Calce Romana walls and columns throughout the space.

The spaces are filled with hidden gems, such as artwork by the French sculptor and ceramicist Olivia Cognet; a marble table by the Milan-based designer Roberto Siron.

The second room will be mostly used as a VIP room for clients and when not in use, it will stock a selection of ready-to-wear and accessories.

In August, Fendi took over a permanent spot on the fifth floor with women’s shoes, leather goods and accessories.

The interior took a similar cue to the women’s floor with the Roman architecture.

The space has been decorated with powder pink rugs; stonewashed walls and mustard couches. The Rome-based artist Marco Emmanuele’s “ISO#226” abstract painting depicting a swan hangs at the back of the space.

As reported, Fendi named Maria Grazia Chiuri as its chief creative officer last week.

“Maria Grazia Chiuri is one of the greatest creative talents in fashion today, and I am delighted that she has chosen to return to Fendi to continue expressing her creativity within the LVMH group, after sharing her bold vision of fashion,” said Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH.

“Surrounded by the Fendi teams and in a city that is dear to her, I am convinced that Maria Grazia will contribute to the artistic renewal and future success of the maison, while perpetuating its unique heritage.”
