Though Miu Miu’s buckle-adorned slingbacks launched for fall 2023, the silhouette is still making its rounds in Hollywood. On Tuesday night, Diane Kruger gave the look her seal of approval at the luxury label’s exclusive dinner at Maxim’s during Art Basel Paris.
The “National Treasure” alum attended the fête in the brand’s glossy black 105mm pumps, which feature a slingback strap around the heel. The three long buckles lend some edge to the otherwise understated silhouette, as does the pointy toe. On the heels’ insoles is a screen-printed logo. The silhouette is also available in ballerina-style flats and a 55mm kitten heel. In the past few months, the likes of Brie Larson, Gigi Hadid, Lori Harvey and Sarah Catherine Hook have endorsed the pumps — and the list keeps growing by the day.

Arriving in head-to-toe Miu Miu at the Tuesday evening gathering, Kruger teamed the heels with the Italian fashion house’s dark gray ribbed silk socks, adding a casual touch to the look. Elsewhere in her ensemble, the actress opted for a preppy pale yellow striped polo top rendered in wool. She grounded the colorful top with a dark gray plaid blazer and a matching pleated miniskirt. Kruger toted around Miu Miu’s caramel leather cargo bag in one hand and a furry shawl in the other. She wore her hallmark blond tresses in loose waves, finishing off with shimmering eye shadow and a berry-colored lip.

The affair was a celebration of Miu Miu’s “30 Blizzards,” an exhibition by British artist Helen Marten, on display at the Art Basel Paris Public Program from Oct. 22 to 26. The installation fuses sculpture, video installations, libretto and movement. “There are so few sorts of visionaries whose generosity, whose intellectual content, whose championing of female, marginalized voices, is quite so prolific and generous as Mrs. Prada’s [and that] straddles both the technological progress, the social mobility of fashion and clothing across something that collaborates in a deeply intellectual way with arts or literature or film,” Marten told WWD about partnering with the designer.
