It finally feels like fall on the East Coast, and Jeff Goldblum is leaning into the season with his latest look. Even if he’s trying it out first in LA.
The actor was in attendance at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala on Saturday night, wearing a black-and-white tuxedo designed by ERL, which kept him warmer than most.
Seen on the red carpet with wife Emilie Livingston, the actor wore a pair of black wide-leg pants, coordinated waistcoat and ruffled white shirt that would make men of the 1970s proud. He topped it off with a black puffer coat, patent leather gloves and wraparound sunglasses.
Livingston chose a strapless pale yellow dress from Prada with Cartier jewelry.
Venice Beach-based designer Eli Russell Linnetz of ERL posted a few images of Goldblum to his Instagram, sharing the look with and without the jacket. In one video, Goldblum is even playing the piano.
In each of the captions, the designer repeats “ERL Artisanal continues its study of the modern American man as it explores tailoring, invention, and new conventions, rejecting norms for individual style in pursuit of new concepts and silhouettes.”
And that’s exactly what he’s done with the “Wicked” actor’s latest look.
Goldblum has never been one to adhere to classic convention, whether wearing a printed silk shirt with his suit, choosing a more slim-fitting tuxedo, topping an outfit with a fur-trimmed cape, or adding the latest revival trend of antique brooches on the lapels of his suiting style.
He even appeared on the Prada Menswear runway back in 2022, wearing a black overcoat with fur accents.
This ERL look is perfectly aligned with the 72-year-old’s penchant for timeless-with-a-twist dressing.
Though the temperature has not quite fallen to puffer weather in LA, per se, Goldblum is prepared for the winter season to come with this cozy take on traditional suiting.
