As per the portal, the singer’s fight with the deadly disease was private and kept out of the spotlight. The news of D’Angelo’s passing was officially confirmed by DJ Premier, who had collaborated with the singer for the song Devil’s Pie. Taking to his X handle, DJ Premier wrote:

D’Angelo is survived by his three children
D’Angelo was never married. He welcomed his first child, a son, in 1998 with his ex-girlfriend Angie Stone, during their 1990s dating. The singer then had two other children. A daughter, who was born in 1999 and a son in 2010. D’Angelo is survived by his three children. A few months before his passing, D’Angelo’s former partner and the mother of his first son, Angie, tragically died in a car crash on March 1, 2025 at the age of 63.
