Rishab Shetty’s latest offering, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, witnessed a huge drop in numbers on its second Monday at the box office in India. In just 12 days, the film crossed over Rs 450 crore nett (gross minus taxes) domestically. Despite a drop in numbers, the film earned in double digits in India.
According to tracking website Sacnilk, the film added another Rs 13.5 crore nett in India on its 12th day in theatres. This is a 66 per cent drop when compared to Sunday (Day 11) collections. While the Hindi and Kannada versions earned Rs 4.75 crore nett each, the other versions earned around Rs 1 crore nett in India.
The 12-day collection of ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ now stands at Rs 451.97 crore nett domestically.

‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ grossed over Rs 600 crore in 11 days and is still continuing its dream run in theatres. The film, which has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, will enjoy an uninterrupted run till Diwali before new films take over.
Produced by Hombale Films, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ was reportedly made on a massive budget of Rs 125 crore. The film is written, directed and headlined by Rishab Shetty.
Apart from Rishab Shetty, the prequel also features Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles.
