This special report focuses on Google’s monumental $15 billion investment to establish a massive AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, a move set to redefine the state’s technological landscape under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. As part of the project, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian stated, ‘It’s the largest AI hub that we are going to be investing in anywhere in the world, outside of the United States.’ This historic partnership, which also involves AdaniConneX and Airtel, will feature a gigawatt-scale data centre, new subsea cable landings to transform Vizag into a global connectivity hub, and significant clean energy co-investments. The project is seen as a pivotal moment for Andhra Pradesh, echoing Naidu’s earlier success in developing Hyderabad into a global IT destination and offering immense hope for economic growth and talent development in the region.
