Eleven‑time Grammy nominated sitarist Anoushka Shankar is celebrating three decades of live performance by embarking on a special India Tour, in collaboration with SkillBox. The milestone tour was set to begin in Hyderabad on January 30, followed by Bengaluru (January 31), Mumbai (February 1), Pune (February 6), Delhi (February 7), and Kolkata (February 8). The tour was curated and produced by SkillBox and RedFM, and presented by Kotak. “Every performance in India feels deeply personal, but this tour came at a particularly special moment. Together, we would mark 30 years of sharing my music on stage — three decades of growth, risk, and reinvention,” Anoushka said.

Through this tour, Anoushka not only honoured her musical journey, but also completed the Chapters trilogy, a body of work she began touring piece by piece across continents over the past two years. The trilogy’s genesis took place in India, making its return to home soil especially meaningful. “This journey actually began in Goa three years ago with New Year’s journal entries mapping a rough outline for the trilogy, and the first experimental performances with a newly formed band,” she explained. “Since then, I allowed the music to evolve with each show and continent. Now, all three chapters are out, the full story is told, and it’s time to close the circle and begin another. I can’t wait for audiences in India to hear this music in full.”

About the Chapters Trilogy & India Roots
Anoushka’s Chapters trilogy, Ch I: Forever, For Now, Ch II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn, and Ch III: We Return to Light, was recorded across Berlin, California, and India, reflecting her cross-cultural heritage and artistic growth. Chapter III, released in March 2025, was co-created with sarodist‑composer Alam Khan and composer-percussionist Sarathy Korwar.

    Additional Roles & Recognition
Anoushka also joined as brand ambassador for the Madhya Pradesh Tourism campaign, “It All Began Here.” She noted a personal connection to Madhya Pradesh, recalling how her father lived years under his guru’s tutelage there. For the campaign film, directed by Ravi Jain, Anoushka performed across the state’s landscapes, while the soundscape incorporated her original melody and creative input from Vishal Bhardwaj.

Over her illustrious career, Anoushka has earned numerous accolades: she is the youngest and first female recipient of the British House of Commons Shield; nominated for an Ivor Novello Award; honoured by the Royal Academy of Music. And in 2024, she received an Honorary Degree in Music from Oxford University. She has collaborated with artists like Gorillaz, Herbie Hancock, Sting, Patti Smith, Norah Jones, and has performed around the world, pushing boundaries in music.

From her debut on stage at age 13 to now, Anoushka Shankar continues to balance her deep classical roots with bold experimentation. Her upcoming India tour promises an immersive musical journey—one that connects past and present, and celebrates a visionary artist’s ongoing evolution.
