Hollywood actress, Karen Gillan, 37, is married to Nick Kocher, 38, and it was in December 2024 that the pair was blessed with a daughter whom they called Clementine. The actress is a hands-on mother, has been balancing work as well as family life. According to a report by the Daily Mail, Karen had written a horror script weeks after her baby was born. Clementine used to sleep in her arms. For the unversed, Karen had earlier also taken to her Instagram handle to reveal to the world the birth of Clementine.
Karen had shared a series of snaps where she was seen holding her infant daughter on her shoulder. She was seen sleeping in a grey-hued onesie. Karen had also shared a picture where her husband, Nick, was also holding their daughter, and he held a mug called ‘Best Dad Ever’. Karen had held a mug that read, ‘Best Mom Ever’. It was in 2023 when Karen shared that she met Nick on Instagram, and according to a report by the People, she had slid into his Instagram message section. Karen, in an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, shared how Nick’s name came in her recommendations section, and she said:
“I slid into his DMs on Instagram. He popped up on my recommend friends list on Instagram. The algorithm is tearing the country apart but it brought me together with my guy.”
Karen was then honest enough to confirm that she followed Nick on X, formerly Twitter. This was because she did not get any response from him on Instagram. Karen took the opportunity to go on Twitter and tell him that his tweets are funny. Karen did think that he would respond by saying ‘Oh, hey’ on Instagram, but there was nothing of that sort.

Karen had already shared earlier that Nick was a comedy writer, and she had not read his tweets, but found it interesting. She had shared getting married to him secretly in May 2022. The actress, at one time, has always been grateful for 2024 as she got Clementine and, funnily enough, had shared how she had shot a movie called Let’s Have Kids as she got pregnant in real life. For the unversed, it was at the Castle Toward in Dunoon, Scotland, where Karen and Nick got married, and they kept it hidden from the press for a long time. Earlier, in an interview with the People, when Karen was asked who fell first in the relationship, she took credit for making the first move in the relationship.

Back in 2018, Karen, in a podcast called Inside of You, expressed her desire to have kids and shared that she would be a good mother.

However, the actress recently, in an interview with the Daily Mail, did open up on how she had written a pilot for a TV show as she could not figure out how to put her infant daughter in the crib during her contract nap time. Karen had shared how the project was the biggest undertaking of her life and could not discuss it much, as it was about the horror genre. In her words:
‘So, I was like “what can I do right now to pass the time? I know I’ll create something”. I was trying to type and then I was doing it on my phone and then I was like “I’ll just have it in my head and then get it out once the baby is not on me”.’

Karen agreed that it was the hardest thing she had ever done and had even shared earlier that it felt odd to think her daughter would have an American accent. The actress had earlier even confessed to why she stopped filming videos of her daughter, as she always wanted to video her daughter when she did something cute. Karen then found out that she was staring at the clips more than she was looking at her baby girl. In her words:
