The sequel to ‘No Entry’ has hit another hurdle as actor Varun Dhawan has reportedly left the project. His exit comes after Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s departure earlier this year. Both of them were initially set to join actor Arjun Kapoor in the follow-up to the 2005 hit.
As per a Mid Day report, scheduling conflicts have led to a major cast reshuffle. The report indicated that Diljit’s exit “made things a bit complicated” for the team, as the project had already undergone major changes from its original cast.
The film, directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor, is now searching for new actors to join Arjun.
A source close to the project told the portal, “Now Varun’s dates are locked for ‘Bhediya 2’. We’re figuring out the new combinations. Arjun is still very much on board.”
Reports suggest Varun’s work commitments will keep him occupied until at least mid-2026. This is why the makers are now reportedly seeking two new leads.
Boney earlier confirmed Diljit’s exit in an interview. In an interaction with NDTV, he said, “Yes, we have parted in good spirits as the dates were not aligning with our requirements; hopefully, we will soon do a Punjabi film together.” The Punjabi singer’s packed schedule, including his international Aura Tour, reportedly clashed with the film’s shooting timeline.
The makers had previously tried to retain Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan from the first film. However, it didn’t materialise.
So far, Varun has not commented on the reports of his departure.
He was recently seen in ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf. He will next appear in ‘Border 2’ and ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’.
