Following the demise of renowned Punjabi singer, Rajvir Jawanda, a shocking incident has occurred that has left the entire country in shock. According to reports, the singer’s mortal remains were taken to his native village of Pona on October 8, 2025, and people from across the village and even A-listers from the industry gathered to pay their respects to the renowned singer. However, the funeral turned into a bizarre situation when several artists and attendees realised their mobile phones were stolen.
According to the reports, over 150 people reported their phones missing. Singer, Gagan Kokri shared this information via a social media video, elaborating that many artists from the music industry had gathered to pay their last respects to Rajvir Jawanda. However, some pickpockets took advantage of the crowd and stole his phone. Who stole the phones still remains unidentified. However, Gagan shared that his own phone, along with two mobile phones belonging to Jasvir Jassi and Pinky Dhaliwal, as well as the phones of several other singers, musicians, and directors, were stolen.
Gagan Kokri expresses his displeasure over the bizarre incident
Gagan Kokri expressed his dismay over the incident, especially given the situation. He shared that such a crime during a time of mourning was extremely shameful. He further reflected on the crime and expressed his insight that this does not appear to be the work of a single individual. However, a gang of around 20-25 people may be involved. Gagan further appealed to the public to share any information they have about this theft.

According to a report by Punjab Kesari, several attendees had trouble returning to their homes after their phones were stolen. They shared that without any means of navigation or communication, it was extremely difficult for them even to get back home. It is worth noting that Rajvir Jawanda also spent his childhood in this village and began his musical career there.
Rajvir Jawanda passed away on October 8, 2025, of multiple organ failure
Rajvir Jawanda took his last breath on October 8, 2025, at 10:55 am at Fortis Hospital Manali. The reports of his demise went viral within minutes, and when Neeru Bajwa confirmed it, fans broke into mourning at the loss of their beloved artist. While initially the reason behind his demise was not shared, the hospital soon after issued a statement informing the fans that the singer passed away of multiple organ failure after being admitted for 11 days.
The doctors had already expressed their concerns about Rajvir Jawanda’s health as there was minimal brain activity and the singer had not shown any signs of improvement. For the unversed, Rajvir’s bike reportedly collided near Baddi on September 27, 2025. According to varied reports online, Rajvir suffered injuries to the spine as well as the head. His health was closely monitored when he was on the life support system. The entire industry prayed for the singer’s recovery. However, unfortunately, he passed away on October 8, 2025.
