Diane Keaton has died.
The legendary actress died in California, a family spokesperson confirmed to People, who noted that the family is asking for privacy at this time. She was 79 years old.
Her cause of death is unclear, but a source told People her health declined suddenly in recent months.
A rep for Keaton didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Keaton’s peers, including “The First Wives Club” co-star Bette Midler, remembered the actress on social media, posting heartwarming notes in her honor.
The legendary movie star was last seen in a social media post in April, looking happy and healthy as she celebrated her dog, Reggie, on National Pet Day.
Keaton first to rose to fame thanks to her role in Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather” trilogy, in which she played Kay Adams-Corleone, the girlfriend and eventual second wife of Michael Corleone (played by Al Pacino).
Her beloved on-screen roles include “First Wives Club,” “Father of the Bride,” and more. She won an Oscar for her role in 1977’s “Annie Hall,” directed by Woody Allen.
Keaton never married, but she dated Pacino on and off for nearly two decades before the relationship ended in 1990. She also dated Allen and actor Warren Beatty.
She decided to become a single mom while she was in her 50s and adopted two children, daughter Dexter in 1996 and son Duke in 2001.
“I didn’t think that I was ever going to be prepared to be a mother,” she told Ladies Home Journal in 2008, per People. “Motherhood was not an urge I couldn’t resist, it was more like a thought I’d been thinking for a very long time. So I plunged in.”
When Keaton was in her 20s, she battled bulimia, much to the shock of then-boyfriend Allen, who didn’t find out for many years.
“I became a master at hiding. Hiding any evidence — how do you make sure no one knows? You live a lifestyle that is very strange. You’re living a lie,” the actress told People in 2017.
One of her last public appearances was a visit to Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s Something About Her sandwich shop in June 2024 — where the “Vanderpump Rules” stars named a menu item after the Hollywood icon.
“The incredible @diane_keaton just visited @somethingabouther,” Maloney captioned a photo of the women embracing and flashing big smiles.
