Akshay Oberoi is on a roll with big-ticket projects from time to time. Last year, he appeared in a crucial role in the Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter (2024). This year, he played a significant role in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. In 2026, he’ll be seen in Toxic, starring Yash of KGF fame. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Akshay opened up about this much-awaited flick.

EXCLUSIVE: Akshay Oberoi calls his Toxic co-star Yash “a ONE-MAN industry”: “He changed my perspective about my career…his self-belief is on another level!”

When asked about the status of the shoot, the actor replied, “I still have to shoot for a day or two. I guess the schedule will go on for a few more days. They have finalized March 19, 2026, as the date of release and that they would not miss that date.”

Akshay Oberoi continued, “I was a fan of Rocking Star Yash and I have learnt so much from him. Actors are very insecure people. We are dependent on the director, producer, script etc. But when it comes to Yash, he has self-belief and self-confidence at another level altogether. He’s a one-man industry. Whether you want to join him or not join him, that’s up to you. But he’s not waiting for anyone. So, when I see him, I get very inspired. He’s the only actor who has given me that feeling and aura. Besides being grateful for working on the film, I am grateful that I met him. He changed my perspective about my career (smiles).”

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari features Varun Dhawan in the lead role. His next film is Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by his father, David Dhawan, and as per IMDb, even Akshay Oberoi is also part of this film.

When asked about it, Akshay Oberoi was amused, “Is it? Please call Varun and ask him to cast me!” On a serious note, he stated, “I am not in the film. But if David ji and Varun want to give me a role in it, I’ll be very happy and grateful to do it (smiles).”
