Country music legend, Alan Jackson has announced that he is saying ‘goodbye’ to touring with his one final concert in Nashville. The 66-year-old will take the stage one last time for his ‘Last Call: One More for the Road- The Finale’. The event will be held on June 27, 2026, at Nissan Stadium. The night would mark an end to a remarkable career spanning more than three decades. Alan expressed his excitement about the show to PEOPLE and admitted he couldn’t have thought of a better place to put his last show than Nashville, home to several of his special friends.
Why is Alan Jackson leaving touring?
Alan Jackson’s decision to retire from touring comes after he has spent years battling against health challenges. The singer has been dealing with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), a hereditary degenerative nerve condition, for years now. It affects a person’s mobility and balance. Alan had first discussed his diagnosis in 2021 and mentioned that he had already been managing the conditions for over a decade. Sharing the cause behind his condition, Alan said:
“I don’t want fans to think I’m drunk on stage. I have this neuropathy, a neurological disease I inherited from my daddy… It’s not deadly, but it will eventually disable me.”
However, the diagnosis did not stop Alan from continuing his performances until his final road shows ended in May 2025. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for the next performance. Apart from his health, Alan’s decision has a more personal reason tied to his family and the legacy he intends to leave. He admitted to the outlet that the road shows took him to places he never thought he would visit, but he intends to end it at a place close to his friends. Meanwhile, a portion of ticket sales will be donated to the CMT Research Foundation, supporting efforts to find a cure for the disease. Sharing his thoughts, Alan said:
“We just felt like we had to end it already here it all started for me, and that’s in Nashville, Music City, where country music lives.”
