India U19 produced a dominant all-round performance to crush Australia U19 by seven wickets in the second Youth Test at Mackay, completing a 2-0 series sweep. The visitors outclassed the hosts in every department, with their bowlers setting up the victory by dismantling Australia twice inside two days.
Opting to bowl first, India’s seam-spin combination wreaked havoc as Australia folded for just 135. Henil Patel (3/21) and Khilan Patel (3/23) shared six wickets between them, while Udhav Mohan and Deepesh Devendran provided crucial breakthroughs. Only wicketkeeper Alex Lee Young resisted with a valiant 66, but he ran out of partners as India seized control early.

In reply, India’s batting depth came to the fore despite early hiccups. Half a dozen batters got starts, with Vedant Trivedi (25), Khilan Patel (26), Henil Patel (22), and Deepesh Devendran (28) ensuring a handy first-innings lead. Kasey Barton (4/57) fought back for Australia, but India’s 171 meant a crucial advantage of 36 runs.
Australia’s second innings was a repeat of their first, undone by relentless Indian bowling. Henil Patel (3/23) struck early, removing the top order in a fiery burst, while Pushpak (3/19) and Mohan (2/17) ensured there was no recovery. Alex Lee Young (38) again fought alone, but the hosts were bowled out for 116, leaving India a modest target of 81.
Captain Ayush Mhatre and Vedant Trivedi ensured there were no late twists. Despite losing three wickets quickly, Trivedi’s unbeaten 33 guided India to 84/3 and a comfortable win.
