Actor Abhishek Sharrma, who has been earning praise for his performance in Vasudha, recently spoke about his admiration for filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, calling him a major inspiration and someone he hopes to collaborate with in the future.

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Abhishek said, “Imtiaz Ali sir has always been my biggest inspiration, and it’s my ultimate dream to work with him someday. Every film or series of his that I’ve watched beautifully portrays love, human aspiration, and the journey of self-discovery. His characters are often in search of something be it their purpose, freedom, or emotional truth and that’s what deeply moves me as an actor.”
Abhishek went on to describe how deeply Imtiaz’s storytelling has impacted him over the years. “He captures the chaos and the poetry of human emotions so effortlessly. I’ve grown up watching his films like Rockstar, Laila Majnu, and Tamasha each of them felt like a spiritual retreat. They made me reflect on life, passion, and purpose in ways no other films did. Working with him one day would truly be a dream come true because he doesn’t just direct, he liberates his actors. He allows them to explore their vulnerabilities and bring honesty and depth to their performances,” he shared.
The actor also opened up about how Tamasha became a turning point in his own life. “When Tamasha was released, I was working in the corporate world, and it pushed me to follow my true calling acting. That film awakened something within me, and from that moment, everything changed,” Abhishek revealed. Through his heartfelt words, Abhishek beautifully captures the influence Imtiaz Ali’s cinema has had on his personal and artistic evolution.
