NEW DELHI: Union minister Chirag Paswan on Wednesday refuted reports that he is unhappy with NDA over the seat sharing talks for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, claiming that discussions are going well and “right decision will be taken at the right time.”While talking to reporters, Chirag claimed that his demands are not regarding any post, nor regarding any anger towards anyone.“I want to clearly state one thing that the discussions are going well and I believe that the right decision will be taken at the right time… As soon as the discussion is completed, it will be shared with you,” the Union minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) chief said.“Chirag Paswan only demands one thing that is to make Bihar first and Biharis first. Chirag’s demand is neither regarding any post, nor regarding any anger towards anyone, nor regarding anyone’s seats,” he added.As the elections are inching closer, smaller NDA partners including Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha, and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), are pressing for a “respectable” number of seats to contest in the state elections.Media reports claimed that Chirag Paswan has demanded around 40 seats for his party, though both the BJP and JD(U) are reportedly unwilling to concede such a high number.Earlier on October 7, BJP senior leaders Dharmendra Pradhan, Vinod Tawde, and Mangal Pandey met with LJP president Chirag Paswan at his residence.Meanwhile, HAM supremo Jitan Ram Manjhi also took a poetic dig at BJP and demanded for 15 seats to contest in the upcoming assembly elections.In a social media post on X, Manjhi used a poetic reference from Ramdhari Singh Dinakar’s Rashmirathi to make his point.He wrote, “If there’s justice, give half; if there’s a problem with that, give just 15 grams (villages). Keep your land whole — we’ll happily eat it; we won’t raise a sword against our family.”This comes as seat-sharing discussions between the BJP and JD(U) are reportedly nearing finalisation.Meanwhile, the opposition INDIA bloc is preparing for a full-scale fight, and a third front is also looking confident in the form of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, aiming to contest across the length and breadth of Bihar.
