Morgan Wallen adds another record to his already historic run on Billboard’s country charts. His collaboration with featured artist Tate McRae, “What I Want,” becomes just the 10th title in the history of the Hot Country Songs chart (which dates to 1958 as the genre’s singular songs survey) to spend at least 20 weeks at No. 1.

The feat on the Oct. 11-dated survey makes Wallen the first solo act with multiple 20-week leaders, following 2023’s “Last Night,” which topped the tally for 25 weeks. Only Florida Georgia Line previously met that mark twice, with “Cruise” and “Meant to Be,” the latter with Bebe Rexha.

Most Weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs:

    • 50, “Meant to Be,” Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line, beginning Dec. 16, 2017
    • 45, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey, May 4, 2024
    • 34, “Body Like a Back Road,” Sam Hunt, Feb. 25, 2018
    • 27, “I Hope,” Gabby Barrett, July 25, 2020
    • 25, “Last Night,” Morgan Wallen, Feb. 18, 2023
    • 24, “Fancy Like,” Walker Hayes, July 24, 2021
    • 24, “Cruise,” Florida Georgia Line, Dec. 22, 2012
    • 21, “10,000 Hours,” Dan + Shay & Justin Bieber, Oct. 19, 2019
    • 20, “What I Want,” Morgan Wallen feat. Tate McRae, May 31, 2025
    • 20, “I Remember Everything,” Zach Bryan feat. Kacey Musgraves, Sept. 9, 2023

“What I Want” is from Wallen’s 37-song LP I’m the Problem, which debuted at No. 1 on Top Country Albums in May and has remained there for 20 straight weeks. His earlier collections One Thing at a Time (2023) and Dangerous: The Double Album (2021) spent a combined 184 weeks at No. 1 and remain in the top five, at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. The latter set dominated for a record 97 weeks.

Notably, “What I Want” has been promoted to pop radio, having reached No. 5 on Adult Pop Airplay and No. 6 on Pop Airplay. I’m the Problem, on Mercury/Big Loud/Republic, has spun off four No. 1s on the Country Airplay chart, with latest single “I Got Better” aiming to make it five, as it rises to No. 3 on the latest ranking.
