Actor and dancer Raghav Juyal, who recently starred in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood, opened up about his experience working with Aryan and the valuable advice he received from his father, Shah Rukh Khan.
Raghav Juyal shares valuable life lessons from Shah Rukh Khan on and off the set: “SRK told me, don’t be a loose cannon”
Following his performance in the Netflix show, Raghav landed a role in SRK’s upcoming film King. Speaking on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Raghav reflected on his interactions with Shah Rukh and the professional and personal lessons he took away from their time together.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Advice: Stay Grounded and Responsible
Raghav shared that Shah Rukh Khan’s words had a deep impact on him—especially a piece of advice about staying measured in public life. “You can’t be a loose cannon anymore,” Raghav recalled. “And this is something Shah Rukh sir told me. I’m sure he might’ve been one early in his career too. But he said, ‘Raghav, you’re going places, but no matter what, don’t romanticise this idea of being raw and brutally honest. You have to keep yourself in check.’”
Raghav described Shah Rukh as more than just a superstar. “He’s a mentor, a teacher. He can work 24 hours straight. I saw him give cues, follow the director’s vision, and put in the kind of effort you’d expect from a crew member. He doesn’t hesitate to move lights or carry heavy equipment. He works like a mazdoor (laborer), and that’s something everyone should learn from him,” Raghav said. He added, “Shah Rukh sir is the first superstar I’ve seen who has no insecurities. He treats everyone like his own. After one good take, he came over, kissed me on the forehead, and said, ‘Very good, beta.’ That meant the world to me. He carries himself like a father figure on set, even if he’s in the same scene as you.”
Shah Rukh’s Journey: A Star Who Grew with Experience
Raghav also noted that Shah Rukh’s advice seemed to come from personal experience. “I’ve heard he was once like us—saying whatever came to mind. There’s still that Dilli wala launda (Delhi boy) in him, and it shows sometimes. But the lesson about not being a loose cannon came from his own journey.”
According to Raghav, Shah Rukh emphasized how stars carry responsibility. “He said hundreds of people depend on you. It’s not just about you anymore—people’s livelihoods are connected to your image and actions. That level of accountability is something I’ll always remember.”
On Salman Khan: A World of His Own
In the same conversation, Raghav also spoke about his experience working with Salman Khan, describing the superstar as having a unique sense of spontaneity. “His farmhouse is something else. He’s got dirt bikes you can ride through waterfalls and streams. It’s better than a five-star stay. But there’s a certain randomness to him,” Raghav said with a smile. “The parties go on all night. The ATVs come out at 4 AM. Earth moves on one track, and his world moves on another.
