Superstar Akshay Kumar had an interesting conversation with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis on day 1 of FICCI Frames 2025 at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. In his trademark style, he set the mood from the moment he set foot on stage. Meanwhile, Devendra Fadnavis also raised laughs while raising an important point about cyber crime, the big threat to India and all the countries in the world.

Devendra Fadnavis said, “I feel that as per the changing times, our film heroes should be shown fighting cyber war. They should be depicting stopping cyber crime.”
Akshay Kumar asked him, “Should we make a film on cyber crime?”. The CM replied, “Absolutely. The way cyber crime has attacked us, we had to change orientation in our police force. Now, the cops get a feeling that tackling street crime is not a big challenge. Our CCTV cameras are AI-enabled and even have face recognition facility. It makes gathering evidence very easy. But financial frauds, sextortion, deepfakes etc. are serious crimes and our film industry hasn’t showcased them yet. It’ll help spread social awareness.”
Akshay Kumar raised laughs as he referred to his upcoming film with Priyadarshan, co-starring Saif Ali Khan. He quipped, “I am doing a film where I am playing a negative role. Main woh film karu ya nahin karu?”
Devendra Fadnavis laughed. Akshay Kumar continued, “Film ka naam hi Haiwaan hai. However, my characters gets defeated in the end. Hence, should I do the film?”
Fadnavis stated, “You should. A versatile actor like you should essay all kinds of roles. That’s an accomplishment for an actor. We have seen films where thought the villain gets defeated in the end, he leaves a bigger mark than the hero.”
Devendra Fadnavis also joked, “Zyada filmein mein aap hero hi rahiye. Yeh dusri line mat pakadiye!”
