Coming to his personal life, Ram is the son of Telugu superstar, Chiranjeevi, also known as Megastar. Ram tied the knot with Upasana Konidela in 2012. After 11 years of marital bliss, Ram and Upasana embraced parenthood. They welcomed their first child, a daughter, Klin Kaara, in 2023. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Ram’s wife, Upasana, broke her silence on keeping their daughter, Klin Kaara, away from the limelight. Upasana was asked whether she and Ram would continue to protect their baby girl, Klin, from the public eye until a certain age. Hearing the question, she said that she didn’t know. She shared that although they want to give their little one freedom, there are a few incidents that scare both her and Ram as parents. She was quoted as saying:
“I don’t know. The world is changing so rapidly, and while a few incidents scare us as parents, we also want to give our child freedom.”
Upasana mentioned that covering the child’s face in public is quite challenging for her, as well as for Ram and Klin. She added that although she doesn’t know if she and Ram are doing the right thing, at the moment, they are happy. In her words:
“Covering her face in public, like at the airport, is a huge task for everyone involved: the mother, the father, and the child. So I don’t know whether we are doing the right thing, but for now, we are happy where we are.”

Although Upasana is widely known as Ram Charan’s wife, she too has an identity of her own. For the unversed, Upasana is the granddaughter of Prathap Chandra Reddy, an Indian entrepreneur and cardiologist, who founded India’s first corporate hospital chain, Apollo Hospitals. So, Upasana too holds a lot of responsibility and is associated with many community outreach programmes. In the same interview, Upasana was asked whether she likes the ‘star wife’ tag. In response, Upsana said that she loves all the tags. In her words:
“I love all my tags. And if it’s a tag that people have given you, it’s great. It’s because you are loved. I am happy about it, it’s a responsibility.”

Upasana and Ram were childhood friends and dated for a short period before getting engaged in December 2011. They tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Hyderabad on June 14, 2012. The couple embraced parenthood on June 20, 2023, when they welcomed their first child, daughter Klin Kaara, into the world. In a recent interview with Curly Tales, Upasana shared how their love evolved with time. She shared that everything was real and nothing was filmy. Over the years, they understood that they couldn’t have found better partners.
