The 24th season of Seth MacFarlane‘s irreverent animated comedy won’t premiere on Fox until next year, but the show has a treat in store for fans — a Halloween treat — with a holiday-themed special. Stewie is stewing because he’s sick of the “Monster Mash” earworm and ropes in Brian to collaborate on a brand new Halloween tune. Elsewhere, Peter rallies the guys to sneak out on their wives and go trick-or-treating, a scheme that inevitably backfires. Worth watching for a gag that puts a new twist on Abbott & Costello’s classic “Who’s on First” routine (as an Abbott & Costello Elementary parody).

Fans can return to the quirky, sleepy little town of Stars Hollow, with all seven seasons of Gilmore goodness streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. Relive those comforting memories with Lorelai and Rory, as TV’s sharpest, fast-talking mother/daughter duo. The Warner Brothers show stole hearts with the charm of small-town life, set in picturesque Stars Hollow. Viewers were swept up in awkward family dinners, brooding love interests, and coffee-fueled conversations. From the quirks of townsfolk to the heartfelt bond between Lorelai and Rory, Gilmore Girls defined an era of smart, emotional, and comfort storytelling.

After a whirlwind weekend spent launching her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” Taylor Swift stops by the late-night show for her first Tonight appearance since 2022. (She’s scheduled to be the sole guest on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Wednesday.) She’s a tough act to follow, but The Diplomat star Keri Russell and musical guest the Format are also on the guest list.

The long-running Canadian procedural, set in early 1900s Toronto, launches its 19th season with series star Yannick Bisson behind the camera as well. He directs the opener, featuring a return visit by former Real Housewife Luann de Lesseps as Noelle Victoria, the wife of corrupt Mayor Vaughan. The season’s first mystery involves an explosion in the morgue, which William Murdoch (Bisson) investigates as a private citizen while he and his colleagues fight to reopen the station house despite the mayor’s best efforts.

More period intrigue, though of 1980s vintage, in the second episode of the intriguing British whodunit starring Matthew Lewis as the cleric Daniel Clement, who clashes with DS Vanloo (Amit Shah) while investigating the murder in his church. Clement is also trying to figure out who’s been sending him threatening messages and begins to believe the killer may be a member of his congregation. For darker and more contemporary thrills, The Crow Girl, starring the terrific Eve Myles, airs its penultimate episode.

• Dr. Seuss’s Horton! (streaming on Netflix): Here’s one for the family, a new animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic that features a young Horton the elephant enjoying adventures in the Jungle of Nool with his best bud Samson.

• Brilliant Minds (10/9c, NBC): Love on the Spectrum alum Connor Tomlinson guest-stars when Dr. Wolf (Zachary Quinto) and his team treat a young patient accused of a serious crime.
• Cracking the Code: Phil Sharp & the Biotech Revolution (10/9c, PBS): Mark Ruffalo (Task) narrates an Independent Lens documentary about the Nobel Prize-winning scientist whose discovery of RNA splicing changed medicine forever.
