Maggie Gyllenhaal for menswear? Eton said yes.

The actress-turned-filmmaker has been tapped as a new brand ambassador for the legacy menswear brand, making her the first woman to represent the Swedish brand famous for refined shirting. Per Eton, Gyllenhaal “doesn’t just wear the brand, she reframes it.” She does so by wearing a variety of menswear styles, from a crisp white button-down and a tie to a more casual striped version paired with jeans. In another shot, she’s dressed up in a black ensemble with heels and a pop of white on the collar.

The campaign, shot by acclaimed lensman Gray Sorrenti, finds Gyllenhaal in four shirts created exclusively for her using Eton’s custom made tool. Per Eton, the 47-year-old talent “brought a rare energy” to set, described as “thoughtful, collaborative and unmistakably hers.”

“Maggie embodies everything we admire: intellect and an instinctive sense of style,” said Eton brand and communications director Janelle Hallberg. “She represents the shift in menswear — a move toward deeper cultural resonance, individuality, and relevance — and brings that clarity to Eton.”

Gyllenhaal made a name for herself as an actress in films like Secretary and The Dark Knight. She segued to the director’s chair with her Netflix feature debut The Lost Daughter, which snagged three Oscar nominations for best actress (Olivia Colman), best supporting actress (Jessie Buckley) and best adapted screenplay for Gyllenhaal. She’s currently at work putting the finishing touches on her Warner Bros. Pictures film The Bride starring Buckley opposite Christian Bale.
