Despite the fact that Sydney Sweeney is starring in a boxer biopic, the actor dressed for the role of a figure skater when attending the Hamptons International Film Festival this week.
Stepping out yesterday (October 4) to promote her film Christy—which is already stoking awards season buzz from its first previews—the actor wore a vintage Thierry Mugler dress and Jimmy Choo pumps. The mini-dress featured a bow-adorned bustier and nipped in waist with a tulle tutu skirt, which was styled with a matching white cropped blazer.
She wore a dainty gold necklace and styled her blonde hair long and loose—not boxing ring or ice rink appropriate, but pretty.

Styled by Molly Dickson, Sydney has had quite the week for statement dresses. The actor celebrated her birthday with a space-themed party, wearing a custom dress by The Blonds that was a like-for-like replica of a galactic dress worn by Britney Spears. Together, Dickson and Sydney have crafted a feminine, sweetly detailed aesthetic that references vintage Mugler, Versace, and JPG as much as custom Erdem, nautical Coperni, and sharp suiting via Monse. The princessy vibe is a go-to red carpet look for Sweeney that came alive during her Echo Valley press tour, where she wore a clingy, crystalline archival Elie Saab gown, a body-moulding corset McQueen top, and another crystal-studded bodice by McQueen. Back in April, Sweeney also appeared in an ultra nipped-in Wiederhoeft dress from the designer’s spring 2025 runway collection to promote her film The Housemaid at CinemaCon.
Christy sees Sweeney transform into the boxing legend Christy Salters Martin, as she rises through the ranks of her sport in the ’80s and navigates her own personal strifes and abuse. From Sweeney’s own accounts, it was an intense experience, training multiple times a day for three months with a boxing coach and weight trainers. A swift about-face with her promo looks seems to be a welcome embrace of Sydney Sweeney’s softer side again.
