Joe Keery’s long-term relationship and ‘big break-up’ from Maika Monroe
Joe Keery met actress, Maika Monroe in 2017 on the sets of their movie After Everything. They started dating soon after and even made things official at the Stranger Things season 2 premiere red carpet. They also spent the COVID-19 quarantine together in 2020. Later, in an interview with GQ, Joe shared:
“Over quarantine, it was like we spent so much time together, which was rare. I mean, that’s one of the disadvantages of dating someone else in the industry. There are advantages as well: somebody who kind of understands what’s going on with you in a pretty deep way. But yeah, I think she’s like me. She doesn’t take it all too seriously.”
However, around 2022, rumours circulated that the two had broken up. Neither Joe nor Maika made any comments on the speculations. However, after nearly five years of accompanying each other to red carpet and award shows, they weren’t spotted together anymore. In 2023, their break up was confirmed when Maika was seen kissing actor, Dalton Gomez.
Few years later, Joe finally made his first comment on his break up with Maika. He stated in an interview with Variety that while shooting for Fargo season 5 in Calagary he was going through a heartbreak. The actor shared:
“It’s a weird job, being an actor. You fly to a random place, move your whole life and that is basically your new life for the next six months. I had also gone through a big breakup, right as I was leaving Rome, so I was really isolated and focused on my work. My social life pretty much revolved around the show; my work life revolved around the show. We weren’t really leaving due to COVID-19.”

Joe Keery and Chase Sui Wonders were seen strolling around New York City during the fall of 2023. The two looked very close and familiar with each other as they walked hand in hand, laughing and chatting all the while. The two were then seen entering Joe’s apartment. They also did not shy away from PDA during this walk. Hence, rumours about their relationship were floating around. For the unversed, before Joe, Chase was in a relationship with Pete Davidson, but they had recently called quits then.
