Amy Schumer opened up about her experience with weight-loss medications
Amy Schumer has always been candid about her health struggles and weight journey. According to People, she once revealed that she underwent liposuction in 2022. Next, she experimented with weight-loss medications such as Ozempic and Mounjaro. However, her experience was unlike that of others. During an interview on The Howard Stern Show earlier in 2025, Amy shared that she tried using Ozempic nearly three years ago. However, she was unable to manage the major side effects on her health. Sharing her experience, Amy said:
“I was bedridden. I was vomiting, and then you have no energy. Other people take it, and they’re all good. So, God bless them.”
Furthermore, Amy Schumer explained that her GDF15 gene, which causes severe nausea, made the medication unbearable. “I couldn’t even throw a ball back and forth with my son,” she revealed. For those unaware, Amy Schumer shares a six-year-old son, Gene David, with her husband, Chris Fischer. Since then, Amy has switched to hormone therapy for premenopause and Mounjaro, which she says helps with energy, skin, and hair. Sharing more about her new experience, Amy penned:
