A 25-year-old man from Hyderabad lost his life in a road accident in the United States on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Sheraz Mehtab Mohammed, son of Altaf Mohammed Khan, a resident of Chanchalguda in Hyderabad.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred in Evanston, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Sheraz had recently moved to Chicago in pursuit of better opportunities. His family in Hyderabad has been informed of the tragic incident. Efforts are currently underway to repatriate his mortal remains to India.
This is the second tragic incident involving individuals from Hyderabad in the United States in the last 48 hours, a student pursuing higher education in the United States was shot dead during an armed attack at a gas station in Texas.
The victim, identified as Chandrashekar Pole, was reportedly working part-time at a gas station in Denton, Texas, at the time of the incident. The news was shared by former Telangana minister and BRS MLA T Harish Rao on Saturday.
Chandrashekar, who held a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS), had moved to Dallas to pursue further studies. The Consulate General of India in Houston expressed condolences over his death and confirmed that it is in touch with the bereaved family, providing all necessary support.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Chandrashekar had been employed part-time with GEICO as a senior data analyst since August last year. His professional experience also includes roles as a data analyst at American Express in Chennai (2021-2023) and as a programmer analyst at Hitachi Energy in Bengaluru (2020-2021).
