You learn something new every day — and today, you’re learning about why Sherri Shepherd had beef with Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert.
If you’re a longtime Dancing With the Stars fan, maybe you can already anticipate the reason why. If not: Sherri competed on the show back in 2012, and so did Melissa.
At one point during the season, Melissa had to temporarily bow out due to a sustained injury that landed her in the hospital — and it happened to occur right around the time that Sherri was eliminated from the competition.
So, during this week’s DWTS episode, Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui was cut from the competition — and after her elimination, she said she was “pissed” about the decision.
During her appearance on Sherri’s talk show Sherri, the host empathized with Lauren’s reaction — and she went on to reveal that her own DWTS elimination resulted in a long-held grudge against Melissa.

“Losing any competition is devastating, but I can tell you firsthand, nobody gets more upset than the one who gets eliminated from Dancing with the Stars,” she said. “Lauren said what she said. She meant what she said. It’s really hard getting booted, especially when you know you shouldn’t have been voted off yet.”
“You put your heart and your soul into it. I don’t know how I went home before Melissa Gilbert from Little House on the Prairie. And I’m telling you, I still can’t let this one go.”
“I kept going, ‘How did she beat me from the ICU?’” Sherri added, before revealing just how deep her grudge ran: “When I tell y’all I was so mad at Melissa Gilbert — when she ran for president of the Screen Actors Guild for the actors, I didn’t vote. I’ve got to admit, I didn’t vote for Melissa.”
Yikes! Even though Sherri did say she can’t let the grudge go, she did somewhat commit to giving Melissa her vote if she runs again: “You’re lucky and you’re really sweet and if you run again for president, you got my vote, girl.”
Well, there you have it. Hell hath no fury like a celebrity eliminated from Dancing With the Stars, I guess.
