Former NCB officer, Sameer Wankhede has been grabbing the spotlight since he had filed a defamation lawsuit against Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. After the claim, Sameer faced heat, as fans questioned him on how he would prove that the Aryan targeted him in his series. Days later, the officer appeared on a podcast and addressed long-standing allegations over Aryan Khan’s arrest in 2021.
Sameer Wankhede clarified his stance in the 2021 drug case involving Aryan Khan
Recently, the former NCB officer, Sameer Wankhede sat down for a conversation with Mama’s Couch YouTube channel, in which he opened up about Aryan Khan’s legal case. During the podcast, Sameer revealed that he had signed an affidavit, which said that he won’t talk about Aryan’s case to the media, but when the interviewer asked some harsh questions, Sameer gave an elaborate reply to it, without taking Aryan’s name. He had shared:
“People have this misconception that if no drugs were found on you, there won’t be any action. If someone has been caught with drugs, then someone must have manufactured it, someone must have supplied it, and there must be someone who is intending to buy it. Do you think that we should not arrest those who manufacture them, or those who are intending to buy them because both of them will not be in possession of drugs? The law entails that the entire chain should be arrested. No matter who is the one who has the possession.”
During the same podcast, when the host asked Sameer Wankhede if Aryan Khan was made a ‘bali ka bakra’ in the entire case, he revealed that no such thing is possible as there is a long procedure, some electronic evidence, statements and more, on which the arrest depends. He was quoted as saying:
“Isme bali ka bakra koi banta nahi hai. After a lot of thought, there is a conscious possession, there is some electronic evidence, there is some statement, so on the basis of that, the investigation is done…It’s not just Wankhede who is doing it all, there are a lot of procedures.”

During the same podcast, the host questioned Sameer Wankhede about the accusations that he had faced during the case proceeding, which were regarding leaking his conversations with Shah Rukh Khan. Talking about the same, Sameer defended himself and shared that leaking is the wrong word as he is not that weak to do such petty things. In his words:
“Leaking would be the wrong word here. It’s neither my habit, nor am I so weak to do such things. I don’t need to do such things.”
Aryan Khan’s arrest in 2021
For the unversed, in October 2021, NCB conducted a raid on a cruise ship, during which they arrested Aryan Khan, and he faced charges including drug possession, consumption, and conspiracy. Despite no drugs being found on Aryan Khan during the raid, the NCB proceeded with the arrest. Aryan spent 22 days in judicial custody before being granted bail. In May 2022, NCB dropped all charges against Aryan Khan.
