Netflix’s ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ has become a global phenomenon, dominating charts and sparking a flood of memes, reels, and conversations online. Since its release two weeks ago, the series has not only clinched the top spot in Netflix India’s Top 10 list but also continues to rank among the Top 5 Non-English TV titles worldwide. Reflecting on the show’s reception, director Aryan Khan shared how perseverance and storytelling kept him grounded during the creative process.
In a statement, Aryan spoke about creating the series and the difficulties he faced during the journey. “Whenever things got difficult, I’d hear Jaraj’s voice in my head, ‘Haarne mein aur haar maanne mein bohot farak hota hai’ (There’s a big difference between losing and accepting defeat). At first, I thought it was motivation, but soon realised it was just a lack of sleep and fatigue. Still, that vision kept me going, and now to see the happiness my work has brought people is deeply emotional for me…it is why I do what I do, it is what drew me to storytelling.”
Adding, he spoke about the love that the series has been receiving. “The love from around the world has been incredible, with the show trending across countries and filling timelines with reels, memes, and fan theories. What began as my story now truly belongs to the audience, and it’s only because of Netflix that this story could reach homes across the globe. As Jaraj would humbly sayAb pehechana?.”
Recently, in an interview, actor Rajat Bedi, who plays Jaraj Saxena in the hit series, confirmed that the next part of the show is in the works.
“Yes, season two is happening. It’s in the works. I’m hopeful that audiences are going to see more of me in the second season,” he said.
The show’s ensemble cast also includes Lakshya Lalwani, Sahher Bambba, Raghav Juyal, Gautami Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, and Anya Singh. It also has cameos from Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and Karan Johar.
