We have all been there. Out in public, scrolling our phone, when we notice that someone is trying to peek into our screen. So far, the only solution to avoid such a scenario was a privacy screen protector that distorts viewing angles from the sides. But now, Samsung is reportedly bringing a better solution with a privacy screen in the S26 Ultra.

As per @Achultra on X, the rumoured privacy display feature will be available as a toggle in the S26 Ultra settings. The user shared screenshots from what they claim was the first One UI 8.5 build. The page shows the title, ‘Privacy Display.’

Users will get the option to use Privacy Display as an auto-feature according to the leak. The S26 Ultra display will automatically hide sensitive content from others when the phone is used in public spaces.

Additionally, there seems to be a manual setting as well in the Samsung S26 Ultra. The privacy display can hide the screen on the S26 Ultra when viewing images or entering passcodes. Users can also make the screen dimmer when privacy display is activated.

These features will ensure that no one else can get a peek inside your phone in public spaces, particularly while viewing any sensitive content, such as text messages or images. This also negates the need to use a privacy screen protector.

The privacy display feature will only come to the S26 Ultra next year, and not the rest of the series. It uses Samsung’s Flex Magic Pixel tech and is a hardware-dependent feature.

Samsung S26 series, here’s what we know

Samsung’s S-series of devices is arguably the most popular Android flagship phones. The Korean giant ships millions of handsets every year. The S26 Ultra is the maxxed out device in the line-up, with the biggest display, large battery and S-Pen support.

The S26 Ultra is tipped to come with rounder edges this time around, instead of a rectangular design, bringing it more in-line with the rest of the S26 series devices. The Ultra will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The phone is also expected to get a redesigned camera module at the rear.

There are some other rumoured changes in the line-up for next year. The base S26 may be called S26 Pro. Initially, the S26 Edge was expected to replace the Plus variant in the lineup. However, recent report from South Korea’s The Elec claims that Samsung may launch the S26 Plus after disappointing S25 Edge sales.

Samsung is also considering using the 2nm Exynos 2600 in some markets.

The Samsung S26 series is expected to debut early next year.
