“Manchester Synagogue Attack” is the phrase that is at the top of trending charts, dominating news headlines and has become a topic of major concern on social media. The unfortunate terror attack took place on October 2, 2025, approximately at 9:31 AM BST outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue in Crumpsall, North Manchester. A large number of people, especially Jewish people, were worshipping at the synagogue when a man drove his car into pedestrians walking outside the holy place.

After ramming some pedestrians, the attacker came out of his car and attacked the pedestrians. The severe attack resulted in two deaths and four people are suffering in the hospital with serious injuries. After giving a couple of warnings to the brutal terrorist, the police opened fire and took down the menacing attacker.

Inside the attacker’s car and in the nearby area, some suspicious items were found, after which a bomb disposal unit was deployed immediately in the area. However, upon testing, they were later deemed non-viable. According to the police officers, the attacker behind his extremely inhuman terror attack on Jewish people’s holiest day, Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), is Jihad Al-Shamie.

He entered the UK as a young child and received British citizenship as a minor in 2006. For the uninitiated, terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie wanted to enter the synagogue where Jewish people were worshipping. But a local man named Rabbi Daniel Walker ruined his ugly plan of hurting and killing the worshippers by timely barricading the doors of the synagogue. An eyewitness named Chava Lewin told The Daily Mail that Rabbi Daniel should be hailed as a ‘hero’ because of the way he risked his life to save others. The eyewitness said:

“Rabbi Walker was incredibly calm, he shut the doors to the synagogue to stop him getting inside. He barricaded everyone inside. He is a hero; this could have been even worse.”

Others assisted Rabbi Daniel Walker in barricading the synagogue’s doors, but the credit goes to him for initiating the major move that saved so many precious lives. After the attacker was shot dead, Rabbi Daniel walked out of the building with bloodstains on his robes and was hailed by people for his quick actions and calm nerves in such a terrifying situation. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), Keir Starmer, has also heaped praise on the people who closed the doors and stopped the terrorist from entering the synagogue.
