Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reported a landmark sales performance in September 2025, with its mid-size SUV, the Creta recording its highest-ever monthly sales of 18,861 units, while the Venue clocked 11,484 units, its best performance in the last 20 months

The record-breaking month was fueled by festive demand and the recently announced GST 2.0 reforms, which significantly boosted consumer sentiment and affordability. HMIL’s domestic sales rose to 51,547 units, with SUVs contributing a historic 72.4% (37,313 units) of overall volumes

    Creta: Versatile powertrains

The Hyundai Creta continues to dominate India’s SUV market, offering one of the widest choices in its class. Buyers can choose from three internal combustion powertrains — a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115bhp), a 1.5-litre turbo petrol (160bhp), and a 1.5-litre diesel (114bhp) with multiple transmission options including manual, CVT, and DCT automatics. For enthusiasts, the Creta N Line brings a sportier driving experience with sharper styling and tuned dynamics.

The Creta also leads Hyundai’s electrification push in India, with its EV variant available in 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs, delivering ranges of 390km and 473km respectively.

The Hyundai Venue, which first debuted in May 2019, has made a strong sales comeback ahead of its second-generation launch likely on August 24, 2025. Internally codenamed QU2i, the new Venue retains its upright, boxy stance while adopting sharper styling inspired by the latest Creta and Tucson.

Current Venue buyers have the choice of three engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol (83bhp), a 1.0-litre turbo petrol (120bhp), and a 1.5-litre diesel (114bhp), paired with manual and dual-clutch automatic gearboxes.

    Exports power growth

Alongside its domestic success, Hyundai’s exports soared nearly 44% YoY to 18,800 units, the highest in the last 33 months, reaffirming India’s role as a global manufacturing hub for Hyundai.
