Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will be streaming on the OTT giant, Netflix. This had been confirmed long before, when the film’s poster was released, featuring Netflix as a streaming partner. However, the digital release date has not yet been confirmed. According to industry trends, films are made available on digital platforms after their theatrical run has ended. But it is also noteworthy that the final date of OTT release depends on the box office numbers. If Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari performs exceptionally well in the theatres, the digital release might be pushed back beyond eight weeks.

Director, Shashank Khaitan, of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania fame, has added a third ‘Dharma’ rom-com to his portfolio with the release of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. However, the film has been facing stiff competition from the prequel to the 2022 blockbuster hit, Kantara. Amid this clash, Dharma’s newest film has minted Rs. 9.25 crores at the box office, suggesting a moderate start to the film’s overall earnings. Kantara: Chapter 1, on the other hand, has collected Rs. 65 crores. Both of these numbers depict the Indian box office as reported by Sacnilk. 

Compared and analysed in the context of the budget, Kantara: Chapter 1 has been created with a budget of Rs. 120 crores, as reported by several outlets. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, meanwhile, was created at a cost of Rs. 60 crores. Kantara: Chapter 1 is already on its way to becoming a hit, like its predecessor, with the film’s first-day earnings covering fifty per cent of its total earnings. SSKTK has lagged behind from the start, with its opening collections covering just over fifteen per cent of the budget.

The film stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the titular roles of ‘Sunny’ and ‘Tulsi’. Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf portray the significant characters of ‘Ananya’ and ‘Vikram’. The plot of the film showcases ‘Ananya’ and ‘Vikram’ preparing for their impending nuptials. However, their exes, ‘Sunny’ and ‘Tulsi’, plot together to get their former partners back. They pretend to be in love with each other to make their exes jealous.
