Recently, an old video of Mrunal Thakur surfaced online, where she took a dig at Bipasha for her figure. Now, when the actress has joined the ‘Bipasha Bipasha’ trend, netizens called out Mrunal for her comment.
Bipasha Basu dazzles in a vibrant red silk saree while grooving to the track Bipasha Bipasha
On the occasion of Dussehra, Bipasha took to her Instagram handle and shared a Reel, where she flaunted her vibrant red silk saree. With a stunning bong look, the 46-year-old actress recreated her popular song, Bipasha Bipasha, from the film, Jodi Breakers after 13 years. She completed her festive look by wearing large chandelier earrings, a statement necklace and a ring.
Her makeup was bold with a red bindi, highlighted eyes, red sindoor and her hair styled in a neat bun decorated with gajra. Sharing the reel, Bipasha also shared a fun-filled story about her kiddo tugging the saree. She wished her fans, Happy Dussehra. The caption can be read as:
“So I got inspired by all of you who did the very glamorous transition reels to my song #bipasha. And I decided to try to do so too … with a toddler tugging my saree and mamma trying to be glam. He He Happy Dussehra to all. Love you all.”
Netizens react to Bipasha Basu’s Reel
Soon after Bipasha posted the Reel, fans showered love. They also flooded the comment section. A fan wrote, “Winner & owner of this trend.” Another user commented, “The OG.” Another user penned, “You are incredible and there is no one like you, my favourite Bipasha.” A section of users criticised Mrunal Thakur’s insulting comment about Bipasha Basu’s physique. For the unversed, in August 2025, an old video of Mrunal surfaced on the internet in which she made fun of the Raaz actress. A fan wrote, “Where is Mrunal. Tell her it’s bong beauty. Nothing can match her beauty.” Another user commented, “Would love to see when you would get back in shape and slim as you were in your prime. It would be a double-tight slap to Mrunal Thakur.”
Mrunal Thakur and Bipasha Basu’s conflict
Earlier, this year in August 2025, a throwback video of actress, Mrunal Thakur from her Kumkum Bhagya days resurfaced on the internet, where she was seen joking with her co-star about women with muscles. In the clip, Mrunal said that if he wanted to marry a ‘manly woman’ with muscles, he should marry Bipasha Basu. She further said that she was ‘far better’ than Bipasha. This remark didn’t sit well with many, and soon it reached Bipasha as well. On August 13, 2025, Bipasha took to her Instagram Stories and shared a cryptic note, indirectly responding to Mrunal’s comment.
She wrote, “Strong women lift each other up,” and encouraged women to embrace muscles and strength. Although the Jism actress never mentioned Mrunal’s name directly, the note was seen as a powerful response. A day later, on August 14, 2025, Mrunal issued a public apology through her Instagram story. She admitted that at the age of 19, she said many silly things without realising their impact, and expressed deep remorse. She also clarified that her intent was never to body-shame the star, Bipasha Basu.
